Velocity Summit Empowers and Energizes

UCLA Anderson convened its 11th annual Velocity Women’s Leadership Summit under the theme “Propel” to celebrate female leaders’ progress in advancing professional opportunities for women.

Keynote speakers included Angel City Football Club co-founder and president Julie Uhrman (’04), and UCLA Anderson Professor Cassie Holmes, who presented her research on the immediate changes each of us can make to enrich our experience of the time we spend at work or at play. Panelists who have made outstanding achievements in the C-suite and as startup founders stressed the urgency of demanding pay equity, expressing career goals and not hanging back from advancing into leadership roles.

Aptly, Heather Caruso, UCLA Anderson’s assistant dean of equity, diversity and inclusion, told participants, “You can drive progress. You can propel change. And you can do it now.”
