"A former employee with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department could face up to three years in prison for allegedly breaking into an evidence storage facility, removing his own blood sample and damaging it in order to avoid a conviction for driving under the influence.

Tommy Ray Trimble, 60, was charged with one felony count of second-degree commercial burglary, one count of preparing false evidence, and one count of destroying government records. He also faces additional misdemeanor charges for destroying evidence.

According to a release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Trimble was an employee of the Sheriff’s Department who worked as an evidence and property custodian at the LASD crime lab in Downey."
