Measuring a Room to Estimate Wall Paint & Wallpaper - Home Decor Ideas

Welcome to our series on measuring a room, where I share an overview of how to measure a ceiling and some ideas on what you can do with the measurements. There are a number of things that you can do knowing the ceiling height and wall width of a room, and in this video will discuss three things including how to estimate wall paint, how to measure for wallpaper, and an intro. on the basics of how to create a wall elevation. TO SCALE - Each element is in the same size or scale so that all of the sizes relate or that they are in scale with one another. A floor plan for example could be drawn in a scale that is 1/4" = 1', where all of the furniture and the room is drawn out in this same scale so that every 1/4" represents 1'.
WALL ELEVATION - A to scale representation of a design or features on a wall. Just like a floor plan, a wall elevation is a way to plan accurate measurements and layouts. An example could be the layout and design of a kitchen.
