This is one of my favorite Richard Pryor interviews. It originally appeared on the Grammy winning box set, AND ITS DEEP, TOO (2000) that is now out of print. Recorded during the filming of the 1983 concert film HERE AND NOW (audio was recorded but film was either not shot or hidden in Columbia Pictures vault), Recorded June 5, 1983 (4 days before the third anniversary of his attempted suicide by self immolation) It captures Mr. Pryor at one of his most thoughtful, vulnerable moments.
