𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭:
𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞:
𝐍𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞:
The central protruding part through which milk is delivered during breastfeeding. It contains multiple tiny openings for milk to pass through.
𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐨𝐥𝐚:
The pigmented area surrounding the nipple, containing sebaceous glands that lubricate and protect the nipple during breastfeeding.
𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞:
𝐋𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐨𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬:
Each breast contains 15-20 lobes, which are further divided into smaller lobules. Lobules contain clusters of alveoli, the milk-producing glands.
𝐀𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐨𝐥𝐢:
Small, grape-like clusters that produce milk in response to hormonal signals.
𝐋𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐃𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬:
Channels that transport milk from the alveoli to the nipple. Each lobe drains into its own duct.
𝐋𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬:
Enlarged areas of the ducts just beneath the areola where milk collects before being expressed through the nipple.
𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞:
Provides structural support to the breast, including Cooper's ligaments that help maintain shape.
𝐀𝐝𝐢𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐓𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞:
Fat tissue that surrounds and protects the lobules and ducts, contributing to the size and shape of the breast.
𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐕𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬:
Supply the breast tissue with nutrients and oxygen, and help in immune defense by draining excess fluid and waste.
