Scania Mining V8 pulling four and five trailer combinations

Scania R620 CA6x4 EHZ has been hooked up to mining trailers built by J Smith and Sons from Gympie, Queensland. Each trailer can carry around 55-tonnes of processed coal.

The combination's payload of 225-tonnes has a Gross Combination Mass of 360-tonnes with four trailers, or a payload of 292-tonnes and GCM of 430-tonnes with five trailers. The Scania can pull the trailers at up to 74 km/h (loaded), and with four trailers on can climb an 8% grade. With five trailers, it can scale a 6% grade. The combination travels along hard clay haul roads in an average ambient temperature of 32-dgrees C.
