Today we're talking about investing in the stock market for beginners by analyzing the top 10 most popular stocks on the Robinhood app. If you know nothing about fundamental analysis, dividends, or anything about stocks, hopefully this video will help you out on your invest journey and what to look for. Here is the top 10 most popular stocks

#10 Amazon Stock (AMZN) market cap of 1.65 TRILLION dollars. EPS Growth in Q2 was 97%. If you’re not sure what that means or if it’s any good, just remember a company with an EPS Growth of 25% or more in a year means that company’s products are in high demand. 97% for a company the size of Amazon is amazing. Its sales growth was 40% in Q2 this year. The sales growth for a large cap company is good if it’s between 5% to 10% (a large cap means a company with a market capitalization of $10 billion or more, so 40% sales growth is incredible).

#9 NIO Stock is the Chinese version of Tesla and they are growing fast but the stock is extremely volatile. Here’s a number: beta number of 2.37. When you have a number of 1, that means it’s about an average stock and the price is pretty stable. When it’s 2.37, it means you’re going to see the price of this stock move up and down a lot, so if you’re investing in this one, strap in. NIO is where Tesla was before Tesla was profitable. But it’s a risk because as of now, they’re not making any money, so their numbers are horrible. EPS is -$3.75, that means each share is losing value but their sales growth is up 22% so their products are growing in demand.

#8 iBio stock. In November alone, it was trading at 5 cents per share, but it hit a high of $6.41 That may not sound like a lot right? For example, a stock going from $100 to $500 sounds way more impressive than 5 cents to $6.41 right? If you invested $1000 into the $100 stock that went to $500, you would have 5x’ed your money, it would be worth $5000. But for NIO, if you purchased $1000 worth of their shares at 5 cents, at the peak, you would have $128,200. Unreal. Pay attention more to % increases, not just the dollar value.

#7 TRVN Stock is another pharmaceutical micro cap company. Not a huge of these smaller companies because in my mind, they don’t have a long enough track record so what people like to do is speculate on the news, so if they see a company like this gets an approval for some drug, they buy the rumors and sell the news. Speculate accordingly.

#6 RKT Stock, Rocket Companies which is the parent company of Quicken Loans and Rocket Mortgage just recently had an IPO so it’s hot off the press and that’s why it’s so high up on this list. Remember to be careful of popularity contests because IPO stocks are always the new buzz, but I personally stay away from ever investing in IPO companies because their prices are usually inflated.

#5 AM Stock, Antero Midstream has been really popular. It owns and operates midstream energy assets and is a subsidiary of Antero Resources. On the surface, not that good as far as balance sheet goes. It’s popular on Robinhood though, share ownership of AM have doubled from about 15,000 to 30,000.

#4 MSFT Microsoft has climbed to #4 because of this one reason, the government JEDI Cloud Computing Contract.

#3 MRNA Stock, Moderna, another pharmaceutical company. This list goes to show you that what’s popular now is Pharma companies and everyone is betting that their stock will create the vaccine first. Moderna is one of the top 8 companies in phase 3 of clinical trials.

#2 TSLA What can be said about Tesla that hasn’t already been said? If you missed my video with Jeremy from Financial Education talking about Tesla, give it a watch. Tesla long term (5 - 10 years out) will be worth a lot more money than it is today, but in the short run, it’s a hot potato.

#1 AAPL my #1 stock, and my favorite stock, and the #1 millennial favorite stockOut of all these companies, it has the strongest balance sheet.
