RWBY Theory - Emerald and Mercury's Escape from Salem

Volume 6 of RWBY has made it very clear that Emerald is not happy where she is at Salem's Citadel, but how exactly could she escape? Leading into Volume 7, there will be opportunity an opportunity that I think she will take, but will Mercury go with her? Will she succeed in escaping? and Where would she go?
