SSS S306 Carnival du Fou w Miss Behavin & Electra Sparks ~ Burlesque

2015 saw the fourth edition of the Steampunk Spectacular event. The show was produced by Christina Rhoderick of the Steampunk group in Albuquerque. Two shows were presented, the first outdoors and the second in the Engine House Theater.

Here is the description of the entire event.

Gentlemen, don your top hats! Ladies, tighten those corsets! Gear up your imagination as we take you on a journey through time to an era of rusty robots, dazzling dancing girls, spectacular steam machines...all at the mesmerizing Mine Shaft Tavern!

This daylong festival has a Steampunk theme (think Victorian-era science fiction). Attendees are encouraged to be a part of creating a unique atmosphere and dress in their best steampunk gear.

Help solve the Mine Shaft Murder Mystery. Try your hand at Tea Dueling. Join the scavenger hunt, have your fortune told and peruse merchant’s row for garb, gear and gadgets.

Costume contest, information panels and workshops planned. Featured performances by Clan Tynker and more!

The day is broken up into 2 segments:

Daytime activities – noon to dark
1 pm - Hat Making workshop – Make a steampunk hat $25
2 pm – Victorian Belief in the Paranormal - Panel Discussion
3 pm - Goggle Workshop – Make your own goggles $25
4 pm – Steampunk 101 – An Intro to sewing, leather working, props and personas.
5 pm - Group photo on the Steam Engine Train - Everyone in costume is welcome to participate - looking for photographers
6 pm – Winners of the Costume contest, Murder Mystery and Scavenger Hunt announced
6:30 pm - Outdoor show starts featuring Clan Tynker - ends around 7:30 pm

Dinner Break - merchants will be open for shopping and more group photo opportunities

Engine House Cabaret Show Doors open at 8, show starts at 8:30

Things get steamy in this vaudeville cabaret show featuring burlesque and belly dancers and a variety of entertainment and the illustrious Clan Tynker.
