Where are the Cunard ships? QM2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth Update

Many of you have been asking me where the Cunard ships currently are, and what will happen to them over the coming months, given Cunard has “paused” its operations until May 2020.

Queen Mary 2’s world cruise came to an end in Fremantle, with passengers and some crew disembarked in the Western Australian port. The ship is heading for Southampton.

QM2 has since rounded Cape Horn and is heading to Southampton. She remains under the command of Captain Aseem Hashmi.

Queen Victoria returned to Southampton, England in late March, bringing her 2020 South American inspired world cruise to an end.

Queen Elizabeth was based in Australia at the time Cunard announced its pause in operations.

Having disembarked passengers in Sydney in mid march, Queen Elizabeth has spent most of her time at anchor off Gladstone, in the Australian state of Queensland and remains under the command of Captain Inger Klein Thorhauge.

While Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria appear destined to wait out the next few months in British waters, it is expected that Queen Elizabeth will remain in Australian waters until cruising resumes.
