MP JET .040 PB Classic model diesel engine (0.6 ccm) with R/C carburettor

My MP JET .040 classic on the stand.

This is a side valve diesel of modern manufacture from the Czech Republic. It is designed to be similar in specification and appearance to model diesel engines from the mid to late 1940's using side port induction. It is often used as a replacement for the well known Mills .75 c.cm., which is long out of production.

The MP JET .040 PB classic is well made little engine. It starts easily and delivers surprisingly good performance.

The engine is fitted with a CS R/C carburettor. The CS carburettor is a simple air bleed design which is very similar to the R/C carburettor fitted to small PAW model diesel engines.

Fuel composition:

1. di-ethyl ether 35%

2. castor oil 25%

3. kerosene 38.5%

4. 2-ethyl hexyl nitrate 1.5% (Amsoil Cetane Boost)
