Sanctus, Omnes unanimiter - Christmas Hymn from Hungarian group Anonymous 4
The Hungarian group Anonymous 4 sings this Christmas hymn. The music, the following text and the translation (by Susan Hellauer) are from their CD “Hungarian Christmas Music”. The background image is Adoration of the Shepherds by Guido Reni.
Sanctus, sanctus, sanctus Dominus Deus Sabaoth.
Pleni sunt caeli et terra gloria tua.
Omnes unanimiter mundi nationes dicite suaviter, iuvenes et senes.
Angeli, archangeli, dominationes, cherubim et seraphim, throni, potestates, principatus, virtutes, circumclamitantes, voce incessabili Christum venerantes.
Hosanna in excelsis.
Benedictus qui venit in nomine domini.
Universi populi, omnes iam gaudete, Deum trinum et unum hymnis collaudate.
De caelo pro homine descendit Messias, quem praedixit Gabriel, vates Esaias.
Hosanna in excelsis.
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of hosts, the heavens and earth are filled with your glory.
All nations of the world together tell forth sweetly, young and old, angels, archangels, dominations, cherubim and seraphim, thrones, powers, principalities, virtues, crying out together, with endless voice venerating Christ:
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
People everywhere, now all rejoice and praise God three-in-one with hymns.
From heaven, for humanity the Messiah came down, whom Gabriel foretold, and the prophet Isaiah.
Hosanna in the highest.
