Risk On Sentiment Prevailed Across Asset Classes This Year

The current calendar year carried a “risk-on” sentiment across asset classes with equities, commodities and the money market seeing upticks in 2021. Despite the recent drawdown, Nifty ended the year with a gain of over 20 percent and among the best 5 global equity indices. The Nifty Bank underperformed the second year in a row & equalled its longest yearly underperformance since 2006. The Nifty Midcap posted the biggest yearly outperformance since 2014 while the Smallcap index posted the biggest yearly out performance in history.
