How to Quickly Find & Fix RenderFrameAt Share Failed Issue in Final Cut Pro X [Solve FCPX Error]

You need to solve fcpx error but are wondering how to determine, locate, and fix the specific RenderFrameAt share failed issue in Final Cut Pro X? Well, then you're in the right place for a #FCPXerrortutorial!

I will show you how to find and locate that corrupted frame in your timeline in just a few quick and easy steps. Just follow along if you, too, are encountering that annoying FCPX share failed to render from either a dropped frame error or corrupt frame error when exporting your video project in Final Cut Pro X!

All you need is to have a calculator, know what frame rate that you are exporting your video project in, and do a couple calculations!

First Determine what frame number your video is failing at. Mine was 11177. It will tell you after you click on the details of the notification window in the top right corner of your screen.

Once the new window in your screen pops up it will say, "Error: RenderFrameAt returned: 4 for absolute frame: [some number]". Again, mine was 11177.

This is the number of frames into your project that triggered the Share Failed issue.

In order to know at what minute and second this is, just grab your calculator and see what frame rate your project is at.

Mine is being exported at 29.97FPS.

The equation is as follows. Frame Number/FPS=Total Seconds. Seconds/Seconds per minute=Minutes.

Take the numbers after the decimal which is a percent of your minutes and multiply by 60 seconds. Percent*60=Seconds. Now you know the total minutes and seconds into your video of where your corrupted video fails when exporting your project!

So for me, this is my math problem: 11,177/29.97=372.939606 372.939606/60=6.2156601 .2156601*60=12.9 Now I need to look at 6:12.9 to find my damaged frame that's preventing me from having a successful exported video! Six minutes would not have been that bad to sit and wait to find the issue...but could you imagine if it was at 2.5 hours?!

A quicker way (that I learned from others commenting here) is to change the timeline from time to frames in preferences and locate the frame number in question.

In order to fix this issue, I tried a few different methods and the only one that worked was by splitting this clip in half right before the dropped frame occurs! Not sure why, but that's what I did and it worked for me!
