If you have never had the pleasure of working on one of these style Buick rear-end systems, Mmmm. Literally only 4 bolts that are 3/8-16 with a 9/16th hex head, is ALL that holds diff to driveline. Then a panhard bar and shocks. Swear the more ya look at it the sketchier it becomes. CRAZY when I first worked on this car, It was driven in with both engine mounts broken, and only one transmission mount bolt left. Now that the driveline is secure, and the transmission rebuilt, 2 years later the center U-Joint failed and the joke broke in the tube. FINALLY found good parts to rebuild the diff and torque tube and she is going back together. Still have brake lines to make, along with exhaust sections to fabricate. Also note the easy way to get retainers off axle shafts and bearings. Good cut-off wheel, and a nice sharp chisel. Wear eye protection! Things get real at times....
