Trifold Mattress for Minivan camper conversion bed and sofa

This video spotlights my trifold mattress for both seating and sleeping in my 2015 Dodge Caravan camping conversion. It also shows my solar charger to charge and make better use of my tailgate kitchen. I made this video just prior to going on my first camp out since my build. It was a lot of fun and made a vast improvement on our trip.

I felt the 6 inch was nice a bit to firm but minimized the uneven floor the crunching in to fit the narrower end portion where it fits as a sofa was annoying. When sleeping keeping a sheet on was tough perhaps a sewed bag design that was also decorative would be a good idea. The solar charger worked great and kept it charged so no issues there.

As for my camping reaction to my whole build: My only issues were I needed sealing to keep bugs out while light was on and tailgate open. I used our reflectix meant for a couple windows so they didn't fit perfect. They were positioned from the kitchen box up to the ceiling and a towel pushed in the side gaps to keep bugs out of the inside. On the plus side though the reflectix looked cool and reflected light out to the campsite. Seems like an easy build to make some better fitting reflectix above the kitchen build and a foam tube on sides to seal it better while the tailgate is open and remove when sleeping.

Overall though it worked great the running water tap worked great. We had a faucet a couple camping spots over to fill the Coleman jug it and we washed and kept clean all day even prepped fish (Catfish fillet skin is dirty and needs rinsing while scraping). Inside the bed was amazing the vehicle cup holders and light and chargers of the box worked great we watched a downloaded movie on a laptop which fit between the front seats between the armrests and stayed great and out of the way. We used front window screens that worked like a sock of stretchy screening (they fit with mirrors folded in) until morning then put in the reflectix as light started to come in we didn't even have to raise the windows it stayed positioned in between the 2 sided screen. We also ran a 12 volt fan all night and still had 60 Percent battery in the morning.
