Israeli police deny being late to react to infiltration attacks by Hamas

Israeli Police have rejected the rising criticisms that they were late in responding to the attacks carried out by Hamas terrorists who infiltrated the border on Saturday October 7th.

“I think that anybody who's not wearing combat boots and was not there should not rush to make judgments. It's very easy to make decisions and opinions retrospectively under fluorescent lights, but what I can tell you is that there's a lot of questions that need to be answered, and they will be answered” Israeli Police Spokesperson Dean Elsdunne told AA on Wednesday (Oct. 11).

He stressed out that the first Israeli forces to get to the combat zone were the Israeli police and border police officers.

Elsdunne said that 8 police officers lost their lives when Al-Qassam members stormed and held the Sderot police station for about 24 hours.

He added that infiltration attempts from Gaza into Israel continue, with clashes occurring at various border points.

Elsdunne referred to Israeli police as "heroes" and emphasised their rapid response when the infiltration attempt occurred.
