Queen 「Bohemian Rhapsody」クイーン・ボヘミアン・ラプソディー(Kasumi Watanabe / 渡邊香澄)

Queenの代表作「ボヘミアン・ラプソディー」を25絃箏・ピアノ・ドラムのトリオで演奏しました。
今まで公開してきた曲と比べて圧倒的に違う点は、曲中で次から次へと世界観が変わるところです。
リズム・キー・テンポなどが天才フレディー・マーキュリーの手によって斬新すぎる展開を遂げ　聴く人をあっと言わせただけあると思いました。彼の独創性豊かな曲創りは唯一無二ですし、代表作といわれるのもわかります。それを箏という和楽器で演奏することは挑戦の連続でしたが、アンサンブルができた時の喜びは大きかったです。
ベースパートがない分、原曲とは異なって聞こえると思いますが、それぞれが補いながら3人でできる最大限を活かして創りました。ちなみに箏はコーラスやギターも含め3パートで多重録音しています。 今回ピアノは私のライブでも一緒に弾いてくれているノアにお願いしました。
彼女のピアノはいつも心地よく、どんな時も私に合わせてくれる素晴らしいピアニストです。
そしてドラムに加え、録音・撮影・編集等全てをレコード会社T-TOC RECORDS代表で歌手の金野貴明さんがマルチな才能でステキに仕上げて下さいました。
無理をきいてくれた2人には感謝しています。

We played Queen’s masterpiece “Bohemian Rhapsody” with a trio made up of a 25-string koto, a piano, and drums.
The aspect that is overwhelmingly different from the other songs I've released so far is that the world view often changes in the song.
I thought that the rhythm, keys, tempo, and so on were developed by the genius Freddie Mercury, which was very innovative, and it was enough to make people listen.
His unique songwriting is one of a kind, and I can see why it is said to be a masterpiece.
Playing it with the Japanese instrument called the koto was continually challenging, but the joy of creating an ensemble was great.
I think that this version sounds different from the original song because there is no bass part, but we made the most of the three of us by complementing each other.
By the way, the koto is overdubbed in three parts, including the chorus and the guitar part.
This time, I asked Noa Tamura to play the piano with me at my live concert.
Her piano playing is always pleasant and she is a great pianist who always suits my style.
In addition to drums, recording, shooting, editing, and more were all done by multi-talented singer Takaaki Konno, who is a representative of the record company T-TOC RECORDS.
