Tropical Storm Gonzalo has decreased in organization since yesterday, and now has maximum winds of 50mph. Recon aircraft will be going into the storm later today to gather more information, but for the time being Gonzalo is no longer forecast to reach hurricane strength. However, small storms like Gonzalo are prone to rapid fluctuations in intensity, and it could still become a hurricane, which is why hurricane watches remain in place for some of the Windward Islands.

Because Tropical Storm Gonzalo has accelerated westward more than expected the consensus track has shifted south, and Grenada may see a direct impact from the cyclone. All interests in the Southern Windward Islands need to monitor the development of Gonzalo closely and refer to their local weather office about information on their specific location.
