A walking foot is a great sewing machine attachment to use when you are using fabrics that are prone to slipping or puckering. This foot is also useful when you are sewing think projects, such as quilts, where your sewing machine needs to sew through a couple of layers of fabric and wadding/batting. A walking foot has feeds dogs that help feed the top layer of fabric through the sewing machine at the same rate as the bottom layer of fabric.

You get better and neater results when sewing with a walking foot.
