The consequent destruction has been staggering, with the Gaza Health Ministry reporting over 1,417 fatalities and another 6,268 sustaining injuries.

While the exact number of civilian casualties remains unconfirmed, there's growing concern among humanitarian workers.

They believe the decision by Israel to enforce a stringent blockade on this densely populated region, home to 2.3 million, is setting the stage for an extensive humanitarian crisis affecting its entire populace.
