Soviet thermonuclear weapon test in the Arctic (Novaya Zemlya, 1957-1962)

No info available. Maybe something can be inferred from the apparent duration of the double flash and the ratio between the fireball radius and the altitude of the explosion. Also, it is my own guess the two footages are the same explosion (second one filmed from a closer point and tilted up angle), could be two different explosions.

I doubt this is one of the very high yield soviet tests as some people claim. It is most likely not a test from the Operation Roza as this scene is mean to represent in the soviet film Ядерное оружие в готовности к применению, were the first footage shown here came from. That is because these explosions occurred in overcast and stormy weather (ref below) (I also think the yield of this one is bigger that 1 Mt, unlike those tests).

There is also, to my knowledge, no info to support the claim that this test occurred in 1957, as is mentioned here for example:

I think that claim originated from a video (now deleted) by the youtube channel @RadiationHazard, were he used this scene to represent the explosion of the test nº47, but as far as I know it was meant to be just a visual representation, not claiming that it was the actual test.
