In this The Rover guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play classic song off of Led Zeppelin's Physical Graffiti album note-for-note.

Your guitar will need to be in standard tuning to follow along with this video lesson and the original recording.

Throughout "The Rover", Jimmy Page uses a Phaser type effect with his guitar tone. It gives the song a really cool vibe, so I have included a PDF printout on the lesson page at GuitarLessons365.com with the tone settings. https://guitarlessons365.com/led-zeppelin-the-rover-guitar-lesson/

We start with an E power chord followed by a single note guitar riff. This intro is just a lead up to the main guitar riff.

The main guitar riff is a lot of fun to play but requires you to really dig into each note with a slight bend. When playing this riff throughout the song, Jimmy Page is constantly adding little variations. At the end of the song he really goes off on it. I will show you those variations and give you a good way of approximating the ending as well.

From there we have a simple power chord riff. When that riff appears later in the song there will be an arpeggio picked guitar part overdubbed with it. I will show you this arpeggio picked part in-depth since it is one of the most identifiable parts of the song.

All sections will be taught in the same order that they appear on the original recording, so hopefully it will be easy to follow along.

Of course, Jimmy Page's solo is really cool. It is one of his easier ones to learn as well. So if you have played any of his solos before, this one shouldn't present too much of a problem. I will break it down phrase-by-phrase.
