NEET Leak: NEET UG Re-Exam 2026 Scheduled For June 21 | What Students Must Know

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced that the NEET UG 2026 re-examination will be conducted on June 21 after the nationwide paper leak controversy led to cancellation of the earlier exam. Candidates will be allowed to modify their present address and choose fresh preferred exam cities between May 15 and May 21 through the official NTA website. Students can select first and second preferred examination cities, while those who do not make changes will retain their previous preferences.

NTA has clarified that no additional fee will be charged for the NEET UG re-exam and the fee paid for the cancelled examination will be refunded. The medical entrance exam will continue in pen-and-paper mode this year across 13 languages, while students will also receive an extra 15 minutes for examination formalities. Fresh admit cards and city intimation slips are expected to be released before June 14 on the official websites.

The government has also announced a major reform after the NEET paper leak row, confirming that NEET UG is likely to shift to Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode from 2027 onwards to improve security and transparency. Students and parents have been advised to rely only on official NTA communication channels for updates regarding the re-examination, admit cards and results.
