Swiss Adventurer built his Camper Van in 12 Days and lives in it full time ( Van Tour & Van Life )

Raf Cramatte is an Adventurer from Switzerland who lives an inspiring life. He found a balance between going on adventures to raise money for children in need and his full time Swiss van life.

I met Raf in Laos 3 years ago. I just finished paddling down the Mekong River from Huay Xai to Luang Prabang and Raf was getting ready to swim with his Hydrospeed from Huay Xai to Vientiane.

I hadn't seen Raf since we met in Laos. We spent 3 days together in the Valais region of Switzerland. I wanted to understand how Raf lives. So this video isn't just about van life and van tour, it's a glimpse into his lifestyle.

Raf spends as much time as possible in nature, which is something very important to him. He goes hiking, canyoning, climbing, skiing in winter, all while living in his van full time. His camper van or his tree house on wheels can seem tiny, but his garden, his playground is the whole of nature around him. Raf found a balance in his life and that's a beautiful thing to see. He knows who he is, knows what he wants and does what is necessary to make his lifestyle work.

Some adventurers write books, make movies or do talks in order to finance their life between adventures. Raf decided to have a job and he became a canyoning guide, he also works as a lifeguard at a swimming pool. He lives on his own terms and when he goes on adventures he does it to inspire and raise money for children in needs.

I'm happy to share raf's story with you and I hope it will inspire some of you, not to copy what he does, but to understand that once you understand who you are and know what you want, it's possible to build your dreams, even if that dream is to become an adventurer. Nothing is unattainable, no dreams are too big to be disregarded and locked down in a drawer only to emerge years later as regrets for things we should have given a shot at. Live your life on your own terms.

Raf did theis DIY camper van conversion in 12 days. it's not his first van so he already knew how to build it and he had most of the tools and woods already. It will probably take longer to convert your camper van if you start from scratch.
