UC Berkeley ME292C/E128 Final Project - Mechanical Battery
A mechanical battery would store energy as rotational kinetic energy via a (relatively) massive flywheel, when energy is needed, a clutch engages that causes the flywheel to spin a motor (or similar) and convert to electricity.
