Tears for Fears (Roland & Curt) cohost GRT in 1985

Tears for Fears (Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith) co-host "Good Rockin' Tonite" with Terry David Mulligan for the Sept. 6 1985 CBC-TV show. Music videos have been deleted. The English New Wave/rock band was formed in 1981 by Orzabal and Smith. They met as teenagers in Bath in Somerset and became session musicians for the group Neon, then joined the band Graduate, and finally formed a band called History of Headaches which changed to Tears for Fears. The band's name came from Primal Therapy, developed by American psychologist Arthur Janov. who they eventually met in the mid '80s. Their first LP "The Hurting" in 1983 went #1 in the UK and their 2nd LP "Songs from the Big Chair" went #1 in North America in 1985. From that LP came their #1single "Shout" followed by "Everybody Wants to Rule the World." The show ends with host Mulligan announcing his departure from CBC for Much Music.
