Gunshot injured elephant found a group of savior's to avoid the infected wound forming in to abscess

This is another treatment mission to save the life of an innocent giant elephant who was suffering with a gunshot wound in the left hind leg. The officials of department of wildlife conservation got an immediate call that an elephant was found fallen down near an army camp with a penetrating wound in the left hind leg. The camp was located near the forest. The elephant must have come out near a human settlement as if he is asking for help. In the morning military officers noticed the fallen elephant lying in front of their office. They informed the wildlife officials. Wildlife officials were on the scene in short order. They confirmed what appeared to be a gunshot wound of his left hind leg in need of immediate medical intervention.
Before starting the treatment it is needed to boost the elephant, as he was severely weakened. May be because the injured leg has been severely infected and this may impair the movement of elephant to find food. Saline treatment was started to replenish the lost energy. IV line was connected to the ear vein. Multivitamins were also injected to the IV line. Multiple bottles of saline were given as the elephant is severely weakened.
Then the treatment was started. Veterinary surgeon diagnosed that the left hind leg was injured from a gunshot. First he cleaned the injured area with cotton swabs and disinfectant. Necrotic tissues in the infected area were debrided using a scalper. The wound was packed with antiseptic powder and medications. There were some sores in the other side of the body too. All the wounds were externally smeared with anti-septic fly repellent spray. Antibiotics and painkillers were administered intra muscularly. Antibiotics would help to boost the immunity of the elephant and expedite healing of wounds.
After the initial treatments, their attempt was to make the elephant stand. The military officers brought a tractor to lift the elephant. The elephant hasn’t regained the lost energy and the force given from the tractor wasn’t sufficient enough to lift the huge body weight of the elephant. Military officers together with wildlife officers tried to refresh the elephant by pouring water over its body. But the elephant is severely weakened.
Finally the veterinary surgeon decided to keep the elephant on the site for few days and treat continuously. Saline was given continuously. Antibiotics were given routinely. Every possible action was taken to heal the infection. It was advantageous that elephant couldn’t move to the forest. So that they were able to carried out the treatment continuously. It took 21 days to heal the infection. Elephant showed signs of recovery. Finally elephant was back on its feet after recovering from severe infection in the leg. Then the he moved again to its habitat forest.
