Episode Notes:
1. Gameplay capture from the Mega SG. Music clips from real hardware.
2. Despite Street Fighter's impressive sales on 16-bit platforms, Super Street Fighter II Turbo did not appear on the Genesis or SNES.
3. I really wanted to hammer home how these later-release Genesis games were seen in the gaming press. The SNES commanded an absolute majority when it came to how 16-bit games were covered and scored from about 1994 onwards. Despite many great games for the Genesis, you hardly ever heard anything about them, and the SNES dominated Game of the Month/Year awards almost consistently.
4. There are many hacks for this game to help the color and sound. If you have not seen or heard them, they are well worth the effort to play them.
5. The Genesis can actually only handle 32 megabits under normal conditions. To get the 40 megabits you see in this game, Capcom used a technique called bank switching to handle the extra ROM. That extra memory also gives you a few more voice samples not heard in the SNES release.
