Why Are Glasses So Expensive? | Optician's Perspective

You may have seen the 60 Minutes special on Luxottica. They did a good and bad job of giving a proper perspective of the reason why glasses cost what they do. In this video I'll give you an Opticians perspective of why frames cost as little as $20 and as much as $500 or more.

Companies like Zenni, Warby Parker, Costco and Walmart offer glasses at a low price point but are they the same quality as glasses that cost hundreds more? Yes and No.

This topic is argued and debated all the time. I'm not in favor of overpaying for anything, not even glasses, but there comes a point where we are chasing the lowest price point and sacrificing quality. Something I don't agree with.

I'll also answer the question "How much should you consider spending on your next set of glasses?"
