Japanese style hewing a curvy pine log with new bearded axe and draw knife
Japanese style hewing is our new favorite way to go about it. With the long handled heavy bearded axe, very little effort at all is needed, just gently picking up and dropping the axe along the sides does the job very fast and clean. One of several prototype drawknives in the development stage was used to clean up the hewn surfaces.
Virginia Pine is the wood used.
