Identifying the Concerns and Needs of LGBT Older Adults
Historically, LGBT older adults have often been invisible to service providers. LGBT older adults may remain in the "closet" due to fear of and experiences with discrimination, stigma and even violence. When serving older adults, it is important to know their whole story, to help fully access their concerns and needs. This session will help providers understand the needs and concerns, share best practices for creating LGBT welcoming services, and how to implement LGBT inclusive intake forms.
