The Teleut is a Turkic people, living in its historical homeland, mainly in 5 villages of the Kemerovo region, in South Western Siberia. There are only 2,500 individuals left, but they have preserved aspects of their traditional way of life.

With the help of the two specialists of that ethnic group, Dmitry Funk from the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology (Russian Academy of Science http://iea-ras.ru/) and Vladimir Poddubikov, from the State University of Kemerovo, I give you the most important aspects of the Teleut culture.

I tell you about their ancestors, their history, their culture and habits. But also I try to understand what does their life look like in a globalized world and to what extent do they identify themselves as a separate ethnicity?
