2024 Ford F-150 Review: Minor Updates Still Satisfy

It’s always a great day when a fresh Ford F-150 is introduced. It’s the perennial favorite of American pickup truck buyers — y’all buy more of them than any other truck out there. And yeah, the ‘24 models may be getting to dealerships a little later than expected, but better late than never! They’re arriving in showrooms now, fresh from the factory with a few styling updates, some new technology and the solid, continued goodness that’s made the F-150 so popular. Powertrains haven’t changed, with two notable exceptions: The base engine is now the twin-turbo 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6, and the absolutely mental F-150 Raptor R now makes 20 horsepower more than before from its supercharged 5.2-liter V-8.

We went to Palm Springs, Calif., to drive the new 2024 F-150, and we got behind the wheel of three variants: a Lariat equipped with the Powerboost hybrid system; a Tremor off-road trim sporting the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6; and the insanely capable Raptor R with its 720-hp V-8 out of the old Mustang Shelby GT500. Detroit Bureau Chief Aaron Bragman drove them in the dirt, down the highway, and over dunes and trails to see what the new ‘24s are like. What do you think about the new 2024 Ford F-150?
