At Smau London we have interviewed Thomas Bastien, Head of Partnerships, Wayra UK: “One of the big challenges facing the healthcare system is a work shortage at the moment. There are a lot of people sick since the covid and they need a lot more help and there aren’t enough clinicians to support them. So, that is one where technology could play a big role. The second one which is kind of coming up. At the moment there is this big boom with AI so there are a lot of problems around the ethics of AI. There are a lot of companies at the moment coming onto this world governing the AI and make it sure that is…. Start ups are made of very passionate people that tackle very specific problems. The challenge is that, maybe, big corporates might overlook. So it’s very important to have this players working on some challenges that are up in coming which others might not be seeing and they usually tackle them in different ways…”.
