11B: Non-Invasive Neuromodulation - Enhancing Performance and the "Neuro-Doping" Ethical Concern

In this episode of the UCLA BrainSPORT Podcast, Harvard Assistant Professor of Neurology and Neuroscientist at the Italian Institute of Technology, Dr. Lorella Batteli, and Adel discuss the use of non-invasive neuromodulation.

In Part B, the two talk about how neuromodulation can be used to advance attention during various tasks. They also discuss how the technology can be used to lighten learning curves in sports if used correctly. Dr. Battelli gives her opinion on the moral dilemma that neuromodulation presents for the future of sports. She shares her view on neuromodulation’s potential adverse side effects as well. The pair conclude by chatting about the future of neuromodulation and where the technology has the potential to go.
