How a PI Controller works inside a VFD Speed Control system
This is how a PI Controller works in a VFD to maintain precise speed control within variable conditions caused by friction, available power and other factors. Across KEB’s line of inverters, a PI controller is used whenever closed loop control is utilized.
In other KEB lightboard videos, we've covered the basics of a VFD, closed loop control, and open loop V/Hz control. In this video we'll talk about the Proportional and Integral (PI) portion of Closed Loop control which allows for precise control of the motor's speed and torque in real world conditions.
