Sotn Richter - Mechanics Guide

*CC available*

More or less a glossary for Richter in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. This is primarily aimed at teaching interested speedrunners of the game about the greatest platforming character of all time. It should be a good primer for either category you're interested in learning.
That said, Richter is the kind of character who really needs a mechanics guide to supplement a room by room "any% guide" in my opinion, so hopefully this can stand as a long-term resource for all players.

A note on controllers: due to the high-execution nature of Richter speedruns, players tend to be very particular about which controller they learn with. In the end though, it all comes down to preference. Many people like myself see the "fighting game style" inputs and jump to arcade stick, but the record has traditionally been held by 360 pad players, while others have used keyboards to great success. There is no skill cap or skill boost from any controller, so the best choice is the one you're most comfortable playing with.
