String Sisters – Wind And Rain

"Wind And Rain" is a wonderful vocal duet featuring Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh and Emma Härdelin paired with a beautiful tune by Liz Knowles. The song was given to Mairéad by the great Jody Stecher. It’s the American version of the famous Child Ballad, Twa Sisters, a universal story of love, jealousy and murder. It can be found in different traditions all over the world. Emma knows a Swedish version, but this time she sings it with Mairéad in English. The tune "Parker's Mill" is named for the street on which Liz's family farm sat. This version was filmed live at Celtic Connections in January 2018 by Waltzer Films. From the album Between Wind And Water, released in February 2018.
