Joe Biden threatens to halt arms to Israel if Rafah invasion is launched
US President Joe Biden has threatened to halt weaponry shipments to Israel if the nation invades Rafah.
In an interview with CNN, President Biden said the US was not “walking away from Israel's security” but from its ability to wage war in those areas.
“If they go into Rafah, I am not supplying the weapons that have been used historically to deal with Rafah,” Mr Biden said.
“Civilians have been killed in Gaza as a consequence of those bombs and other ways in which they go after population centers.”
The US previously paused a shipment of munitions to Israel due to possible operations in Rafah.
