One of the really cool things about living in Miami the last few years is that one of my favorite DJ/Producers of all time Louie Vega plays here a lot. Every time he spins one of his iconic sets I absolutely loose my mind and get even more inspired and more excited about the state of Soulful House Music. One of the things I love about Louie is his wide musical range. They guy plays and creates Deep, Soulful, Gospel, Afro, I mean there are no boundaries for this guy. I also love that he partners with some of the best singers and musicians from all genres. You totally feel the many layers in his musical productions. Well, needless to say after his recent visit here I had to run home and pull out of my Vega classics. Totally unplanned I just started playing. The music community just recently lost the great James Ingram (RIP) a few weeks ago so I wanted to open the set with him singing "Lean On Me" from the old Masters at Work days. Secondly I dropped "Elevator" which is still one of my favorites songs from any genre the last few years featuring the incomparable Ms. Monique Bingham. I played some Deep Instrumentals, some Afro and just some good ole "House Bangers." So get Set Up, Plug In, and let's get ready to go on another Louie Vega journey...
