Cat Café in Scotland

My friends and I visited Scotland’s first cat café, Maison de Moggy! It was such a dreamy and whimsical experience. I miss my new kitty friends already. :’3

If you have any concerns about the cats at the cafe, I will assure you about a few things:
Firstly, the kitties were specifically chosen for their docile, gentle natures which allow them to remain relaxed in the presence of the other kitties (and some of them are siblings who grew up together). Their affectionate natures also make the perfect mix for meeting different people who come to the cafe (I particularly loved Alain the ragdoll who kept meowing and chasing after people demanding affection and cuddles!) Before you are allowed into the cafe, you must remove your shoes and wash your hands with antibacterial gel, and then read a list of rules on how to respect the cats (and obviously you are not allowed to feed them anything). Children must be at least 10 years to enter. The kitties have a little catflap (labelled with a kitty bathroom sign) which leads to their litterboxes as well as a private home where they can get peace and quiet from customers. The cafe now only allows 10 customers per hour into the cafe to create a more relaxed and gentle environment that doesn’t overwhelm the kitties. Customers are charged £7 per hour (not including food/drink), all of which goes to supporting the care for the cats who live at the cafe. The food and drinks are prepared in a room blocked away from kitty access, and are then brought through to the customers’ table. All of the cats at the cafe have been spayed/neutered. There are air purifiers and frequent cleanups in the cafe to lower the chances of allergic reactions.

Cattitude is another scottish cat café which is hoping to kick off in the near future. I look forward to visiting that one, too! :)
