Truck Camper Flatbed Build! Pickup Rust Issues...

We have been living in our truck camper for 2 years. Now it's time to fix the truck bed RUST issue, restore the frame, and build a flatbed. This is on a 1996 Chevy K2500 Pickup full size bed...5.7l 357 engine, 200,000 miles.

Being that the truck drives great and has been reliable for the most part... we opt to give it a little TLC.

Build Cost:

Steel $96
8 Cedar Deck Boards (brown pressure treated) 2x10x8 $110
5 cans rust black Spray Paint $50
Nuts and Bolts $50
Side walls wood $35
Propane torch $15
L brackets for side walls $40
Wheel well wood $20
Side wall flip down hinges and hardware $25
As far as cost of tools for this project, I borrowed some tools from family.

Total Cost $440.00
