UK’s Trident Nuclear-Deterrent System Misfires During Test, Missile Crashes Near Launch Submarine

The UK’s Trident nuclear-deterrent system misfired during a test on January 30, The Sun newspaper reported. This caused the missile to crash into the ocean off the Florida coast near the launching submarine. The UK Ministry Of Defence confirmed that an "anomaly" had occurred during the test but said Britain's "nuclear deterrent remains safe, secure and effective."
