Michelin cross climate 2 review | How well does this all weather tire do in the snow!

So far I am super impressed with the Michelin Cross Climate 2 in the snow.

I realize I didn’t buy the “best winter tires” but these are a huge step up from how well typical all season tires would do in the snow!

There is a M+S mud and snow rating that tires can get that says they do 10% better in mud and snow than the average tires.

These blow that out of the water!

They have the 3 peak mountain snowflake rating, or 3PMSF, which means it meets required performance criteria accelerating in medium packed snow.

They don’t test braking in that test, but I did, and it was head and shoulders above the all season tires that my 2018 rav4, Bridgestone ecopia h/l422.

The Bridgestone ecopia tires had me driving 20 mph on snow and ice packed roads, cause I would hit my brakes and the car would go 19, 18, 17. Ugh. No bite in the snow.

I hope this review helps someone pick a tire.

It has less compromises than a snow tire or winter tire like the Bridgestone blizzak ws80, which is arguably the best winter tire in the world, but is loud, does poor in the rain, and must be swapped out in the summer (which I almost went down that route)

The Bridgestone ws90 which came out in 2018, performs 95% as well as the old ws80 but will last 4 seasons of snow instead of 3, a huge money saving plus.

My research brought me to the Michelin Cross Climate 2. A leading consumer reporting magazine (you know the one) gave it great marks in every category, a rare feat.

It also was #1 out of a 90 touring tires on tire rack in consumer reviews.

It’s more expensive, at $200 per tire! But I’m glad I bought it so far.
