PLANT CARE FOR BEGINNERS - Tips on how to grow plants indoors! How to care for House plants!

Want to learn how to keep your house plants happy and thriving? This video covers many great tips that will help you achieve your plant goals.

WATER TEMPERATURE - Use room temperature water. Plants can be shocked and damaged by cold and hot water.

KEEP A CONSISTENT WATERING SCHEDULE - some plants really hate inconsistent watering. So pick a day of the week when you will water the bulk of your plants. (you will likely have some that need more and less water than this, but having a schedule will help you with many plants).

DRAINAGE HOLES - make sure your pot has drainage holes.

NO WET FEET - don't allow excess water to hang around the root in cache pots or saucers.

DON'T OVERWATER - the sad fact is that most houseplant deaths are caused by overwatering. We want to give our plants love but sometimes it’s better to be a little neglectful.

OVERWATERING MEANS - the frequency (how often we water) rather than the quantity (how much) we give our plants when we water.

LEARN WHAT YOUR INDIVIDUAL PLANT NEEDS - take the time to research and learn about your specific plant. Every plant is different and wants different care (light, water, humidity…)

BUY PLANTS BASED ON THE CONDITIONS YOU ACTUALLY HAVE - it's a good idea to know the kind of light, humidity and watering that you can give a plant before you bring it home.

CLEAN YOUR LEAVES AND WINDOWS - dust and dirt on leaves and windows blocks sunlight from plants. Optimize your light by keeping them clean.

CHECK FOR PESTS REGULARLY - if you check for pests once a week, even if you do find something, it wont get out of hand.

QUARANTINE NEW PLANTS - you never know what is in the soil or leaves of a new plant. Even if you looked it over for pests, keep it away from your other plants for a week or two just in case something hatches.

DILUTE FERTILIZER - dilute your fertilizer (especially if you are new to the plant) by ½ or even ¼ strength to ensure that you don’t burn your plant.

ROTATE PLANTS REGULARLY - if your plant leans over to the light source (window) then just rotate every few days or each week depending on how fast it grows.

IF SOMETHING DIES.... DONT SWEAT IT! it's sad, but these things happen. shake it off and try again.
