Thomas Farbmacher, der Titelverteidiger aus Hopfgarten bei Kitzbühel, hat das geschafft, was vor ihm noch kein Athlet beim SALOMON Zugspitz Ultratrail powered by LEDLENSER realisiert hat. Der 30-jährige Österreicher setzte sich am Samstag, 17. Juni, im Zugspitzdorf Grainau nach 101,5 Kilometer und 5412 Höhenmeter in der Zeit von 11:22.09,6 Stunden durch und verteidigte damit als erster Athlet überhaupt seinen Sieg aus dem Vorjahr.

Defending champion Thomas Farbmacher has accomplished what no other athlete before had ever achieved – winning the SALOMON Zugspitz Ultratrail (ZUT) race powered by LEDLENSER twice in a row. The 30-year-old Austrian from the town of Hopfgarten near Kitzbühel was the first man across the finish line in the town of Grainau in the Zugspitze area after the 101.5- kilometer long ultratrail race with a total ascent of 5,412 meters with a time of 11 hours, 22 minutes and 9 seconds. Farbmacher carved his name into the record books as the first to defend his title with his back-to-back victories in two consecutive years.
