After 22 years of being involved in the better shoe business, Larry and I partnered together to open Fossee's Shoes in 1986. We started with all shoe selections and slowing grew out business with handbags.
In the mid-nineties, Nancy Wells and myself started going to different markets available to use and added women's apparel. After a couple of seasons, we decided that this was working - and our customers seemed to really like what that were offering unique apparel, jewelry, handbags and accessories along with the quality lines of shoes we were known for.
Most department stores are not carrying all widths available in all shoe designers. Since we grew up in the South, where narrow and slender widths are very much needed, we still try to get as many as possible. You can find these widths in our Stuart Weitzman, Donald Pliner, Clarks, Van Eli, Sesto Meucci, Pravada, Munroes, Robert Zur to name a few. On some brands, we are able to buy catalog shoes and we offer them at preferred pricing. These do not last long.
Fossee's Shoes believes in giving back to the community and supports several charities every year. We support the Veterans by giving clothing and shoes to a satellite station in Texas. Go for Red - Heart Disease is a bigger, newer event that we participate in: we donate a portion of sales during the GO RED Month. Fossee's Sponsors the Annual "Free to Breathe D/FW Metroplex 10K Run and 5K Run/Walk as well. This event takes place every May - and this year was the largest amount of donations were earned and applied to finding a cure for Lung Cancer.
