Endometrial Polyp Removal by Hysteroscopy | A Practical Teaching Video

This video demonstrates hysteroscopic polypectomy in a 58-year-old woman, Malti Paras, who presented with postmenopausal bleeding.

Findings:
• Transvaginal ultrasound revealed a 3 × 1 cm endometrial polyp arising from the uterine fundus and right lateral wall near the right cornu.
• Another smaller 2.5 cm polyp was identified in the left cornu of the uterus.

Procedure:
• A diagnostic hysteroscopy confirmed the findings.
• Initial removal was performed using scissors to divide the pedicle and retrieve the specimen.
• A residual polyp was subsequently resected using a bipolar loop to ensure complete excision and minimise the risk of recurrence.

Key Learning Points:
• Role of hysteroscopy in evaluating postmenopausal bleeding.
• Techniques of polyp removal: scissors vs bipolar resectoscope.
• Importance of complete excision and specimen retrieval.
• Prevention of recurrence and need for histopathological evaluation.
