In fact, it is so far away that it takes light months to reach it, and even humanity's fastest spacecraft, Voyager 1, hasn't been able to cross it yet!

Whenever there is a gravitational disturbance, an icy rock breaks off from this cloud and shoots toward Earth—which we see as a comet or 'shooting star'. Compared to the terrifying vastness of the universe, our Earth is less than a speck of dust.
